How it works

This market will resolve to "Yes" if a one-time tax on billionaires ballot initiative is officially certified as passed in California in 2026. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". A ballot initiative is considered "passed" only when it meets ALL of the following conditions: (1) it appears on the official 2026 California statewide ballot; (2) it receives the minimum percentage of "Yes" or "For" votes required by the California Constitution and applicable election law (whether simple majority, supermajority, or other threshold); (3) it meets any minimum voter turnout requirements, if applicable; and (4) it is certified as passed by the California Secretary of State. If the initiative does not qualify for the 2026 statewide ballot, fails to receive the required vote threshold, or is not certified as passed by the California Secretary of State by the statutory certification deadline, the market will resolve to "No". Resolution will be based on official information from the California Secretary of State.
